SIC ITUR AD ASTRA
This book was written to commemorate the 60th anniversary of our school leaving in 1959, remaining as a legacy of the happy days we spent at St Andrew’s. Many of us have contributed with memories and photos of those days - a time gone by - followed by a short narrative illustrating our lives after 1959 to the present date.
It is also a tribute to the grand building some of us inaugurated in 1947 in Nogoyá 550, Olivos. More than 70 years later, those classrooms that we journeyed through have ceased to exist as such and in the very near future the building we knew will also disappear.
As St Andrew’s transitioned from its premises in town on Calle Ituzaingó out to Olivos in 1947, now, once again, it has moved to its more permanent campus in San Fernando.
We, the 59ers, will never forget that very important chapter in our lives which was our passage through St Andrew’s in Olivos, where we were introduced to the basic fundamentals of primary and secondary education, as well as ethics, discipline, respect and fair play.
But most importantly, it was where some of our most enduring friendships were hatched.
Unfortunately, some of our school friends are no longer with us, but all are remembered respectfully and affectionately and with the joy of the great moments we spent in their company.
Most of us have been in touch, off and on, over the last 60 years. We are grateful for being so united and so, for this exceptional human group…
LONG LIVE THE 59ers!
